Mama Africa – the curse of Coltan
It’s my newest wood cut. And it is based on a photo, made near Goma, the capital of the Kivu province in the east of Kongo. A black woman flees with her little baby, her whole pile of staff onto her head. With fear and no hope, ’cause of the Hutu and Tutsi warlords, going after the gold of East Kongo, the Coltan.
